AB - Ancienne Belgique
Swinging release party from Brussels-based Latin alternative band
After more than a decade of performances across Europe and Latin America, Chicos y Mendez returns to AB to present Latidos, its new album.
Led by Belgian-Peruvian singer-songwriter David Méndez Yépez, Chicos y Mendez has established itself as a distinctive voice in Latin alternative pop. Warm, uplifting music driven by songs about what beats between people, reminding us that the bonds we create can also be acts of resistance.
On September 19, Chicos y Mendez will unveil the world of Latidos live on stage for the very first time. An album that celebrates what connects us: love, desire, transmission, shared stories, and the power of human encounters.
A unique evening to celebrate the release of Latidos and make a collective heart beat. ¡Vamos!

RENATA FLORES
For this special evening, Chicos y Mendez will welcome special guest Renata Flores for her very first concert in Belgium. Described by The New York Times as the “Queen of Quechua Rap,” the Peruvian artist from Ayacucho brings the language of her ancestors to stages around the world. She has become a leading voice of a generation that refuses the erasure of Indigenous peoples and proudly advocates for the place and power of women.

“Acento is now available on all platforms
"Acento," the new song by Chicos y Mendez. It is a collaboration with Boogát, a great singer from Quebec with roots in Mexico and Paraguay. It is a song made for dancing, for celebrating our accents— our different ways of speaking, which tell us so much about our life stories, migration, and resistance. Listen to "Acento" on all platforms.
